Cox's Bazar-World's Longest Sea Beach

The unbroken 125 km beach at Cox's Bazar is sandy with a gentle slope. Since the rise and fall of the tide here is not great, it is a good place for sea bathing. In addition to the long sea-beach with its silvery waves breaking at the foot of hills and sea-bathing, the attractions of Cox's Bazar include a drive along the beach, the view of the sun setting on the rolling sea-waves, the moonlit night, and the exciting interior of the bazar and its people.

The bench of justices Khademul Islam Chowdhury and Mashuk Hossain Ahmed ordered the government to show cause within the next six weeks.

The High Court had already quashed the case once, ruling on Feb 6 that the case against Hasina was illegal for being tried under emergency powers rules.

'Bail refusal not a good sign'

Sheikh Hasina

Desk report

Awami League's Suranjit Sengupta sees the High Court's refusal on Monday to grant party chief Sheikh Hasina bail in the Noor Ali extortion case as 'not a good sign'.

"Allow Sheikh Hasina to return home or we will be forced to take to the streets. Don't drive us to the streets," the member of the AL's policymaking presidium said to the government policymakers.

Speaking at a discussion on the occasion of Hasina's 62nd birth anniversary at the party's headquarters on the Bangabandhu Avenue, he also demanded withdrawal of all the cases against the former prime minister.

His presidium colleague Amir Hossain Amu said, "A party is making conspiring sensing that Awami League is set to go to office. They were behind the Jan. 11 events. Now they have started conspiring over elections."
